Lamella Clarifier, also known as Inclined-Plate Settler, is a high-efficiency solid-liquid separation unit specially designed for water treatment systems, dedicated to removing suspended particles and impurities from liquids. Developed based on the classic shallow tank sedimentation theory — which proves that sedimentation efficiency of a settling tank is solely determined by its horizontal surface area, not tank depth — this equipment maximizes effective settling area in a compact structure.

The effective settling area of the lamella clarifier refers to the total horizontal projected area of all inclined plates. Compared with conventional clarifiers, it cuts equipment footprint by up to 90% and multiplies sedimentation efficiency significantly. Featuring a conical bottom tank and a simple structure, it operates with no power consumption during natural sedimentation. For convenient ocean transportation, it can be disassembled into top and modular components to fit standard shipping containers perfectly.

Working Principle

As a high-performance alternative to traditional settling tanks, lamella clarifiers are widely used in raw water pretreatment and industrial water treatment processes. Unlike conventional clarification equipment, it adopts a group of closely arranged inclined plates to create a large effective settling area within a small occupied space.

After entering the clarifier, the influent water is stabilized to avoid turbulence. Suspended solid particles settle onto the inclined plates gradually, slide down along the plate surface, and accumulate in the conical sludge hoppers at the bottom. Concentrated sludge is discharged from the bottom of the hoppers, while clarified water overflows the top weir and flows out of the unit as treated effluent.
